I was also diagnose of Hiatus Hernia. However mine is a lump growth in my oesophagus. I was also suffering of acidity, belching and every time I have my meal, I tend to belch the food out and I feel heavy or tight feelings in my chest area. I was also suffering of bad breath, though my Dentist confirmed of my excellent teeth condition and hygiene. My throat is always itchy and also a feeling of tightness. Then doctor advised me not to lift heavy things, no coffee, chocolates, cigarettes and caffeine. A heavy medication for ( acid reflux). Still it was an on and off thing for me. A friend of mine told me this Hiatus Hernia is a wear and tear in your muscle tissue. So, in other words there is no treatment, you just have to avoid and prevent this from happening again.
