multiple periods

by kkonan, Jul 25, 2008 12:55PM
I am 42, pretty active and healthy. Up until last month my period has been regular. Beginning in June, my scheduled period happened on time, then 2 weeks later i had another period lasting around 5 days. It wasnt any heavier than my normal period and there is no pain or other symptoms. This month (july) the same thing has happened. What could this be? I am a single parent with no insurance and do not know what to do.

Hello - when I read your post it sounded all to familiar to me. I am 45 and had the exact same thing happen to me. I actually had 3 periods in July - 7/5, 7/18 and 7/31. I also got my August period 18 days after the July period on 8/18. I have had 4 periods all two weeks apart and all lasting 5 days. I went to doctor and he ordered a trans vaginal ultrasound - I had it done and all was normal. I called the office again to request that they maybe do a D & C. The OBGYN doctor said that the lining of my uterus was to thin to scrape - I have an appt in two weeks to see what is the next step. Hope all is well with you - let me know if your periods have since gone back to normal. Thx.
