Need help with MRI

by Julie599, Jul 25, 2008 10:41PM
I posted in the Neurology forum , but not sure if that was the right place. I trying to research some problems I am having and just had an MRI a few days ago and having trouble figuring out what it means.  I am a 32 year old female, who had pain in my left shoulder since grade school which was told to me "growing pains" and no actual check up for it. As I have gotten older it just gets worse. My MRI was compared to one I had back in Jan 07. Here is what the x-rays read.
Conclusion - There are degenerative changes . Decrease in height at c5-c6 intervertebral disc.
There are very small bilateral cervical ribs.
Cervical spondylosis w/ DDD disease at c5-c6

Loss of the normal cervical lordosis.
My MRI-
c5-c6-There are subligamentous posterior intervertebral disc protrusion w/impression upon the ventral aspect of the thecal sac. There is effacement of the ventral subarachnoid space. There is no significant cervical spinal cord impression . The neural formina are patent.

Please help put this in terms I can understand..TY
