The bad part lasts about 5-7 days, usually. Everyone is different but many are starting to feel better on day 5. You didn't say how many per day and per dose you are taking?
There is a wealth of information in the health Pages found near the top right of page.
Welcome to the forum!
The good news is you can do this.

sometimes the anticipation makes it worse.  Try to enjoy today if you aren't feeling ill.  You are going to have a few rough days ahead where you don't feel like even getting out of bed.  so enjoy today.  For me, it usually starts w/anxiety, fast heartbeat, and sweats.  Once you start getting those, then you can prepare yourself.  Read the healthpages, get the vitamins and stock up on gatorade.  The great thing, is it does only last for a few days.  Compared to some (like tramadol) that lasts several weeks.  YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! Come on here and post as often as you need.  It may be slow at times, but we are here as soon as we can be.

Hang in there!  The worst with ct is about 7 days like a bad flu.  You will probably need some help with your son, it knocks you down like the bad flu also.  Maybe your hubby or significant other or a family member can help you some.   Gramma is always good when you have the flu :)  It is doable and you will be happy to get this behind you and on the road to happiness with your sweet lil boy!
God Bless and good luck

Do it for yourself, not your kid. If you do it for someone else you will begin to rationalize and start using again. When you get your life back, appreciating and loving your baby is not a "reward" for being clean; it's part of life. You're supposed to feel love, hydro is robbing you of that. I'm going through the same thing with my 3 year-old daughter.I kissed her on the head this morning and she hugged me back and it was the first time in years that I felt like I was really in the same world as her. Withdrawal is he11, but you can do it and you're not alone. We all care about you and are pulling for you.
