If anybody knows of a pacemaker that stops A-Fib please let me know. I have not heard of one that really works despite the claims of the manufactures. They work fine for Bradicardia.

Great. Keep picking up Mo. Hope it continues to improve. I have been feeling a bit better and trying to walk everyday. If I can only stop focussing on it I am better. I am in Australia. Good luck with it all Mo. Best wishes Daz
Hi Daz
Thanks for your enquiry, I have not had the the bad chest pain, but the other day I had a very low heart rate and was off colour for a couple of days I may have got a bug as we had our son and ffamily over from the Lake district and the lad who is in the Army and on leave, came with them and he had an awful Cough, I blamed that for my poor state a couple of days later, but now picking up again.
How are you getting on, any better, do you live over the pond? Mo
Hi Mo,
Been wondering how you are going since your pacer adjustments?
Hope all is well? Best regards Dazle
Great Mo. At least they listened to you. My belief is if you have atrial fib the pacemaker will put it back into natural rhythm anyway.
I have been better and walking most days. Also taking a small valium at night which has really helped me and stopped me from stressing. And trying to remain positive so overall I have been better.
The old mind is a powerful thing and hearts are the worst to make us depressed.
So here's hoping then we both keep feeling heaps better from now on. I guess also it naturally takes the old body a while to get used to a change in settings. All the very best Mo and let's know how you are improving. Dazle.
Hi Daz I got my settings changed this morning, after a lot of asking, I asked what they were going to do and was informed that the Top And Bottom Limits for the Heart rate settings, were reset, this morning. The pacing man said he thought it was Artial fibrilation causing my chest pain and other symptoms, they said that they did not think pacemaker settings were my problem, but would do this setting anyway. I said Ihad no problems until the pacing clinic did a pacing check last October, during a perfusion scan,
I will respond if I get any worse or better later. Hope you can get some satisfaction for yourself Regards Mo
Hi I am just the same will get back to you if i get any help MO
Good luck then Mo on the 12th. I will be anxious to see how you go.
I had a shocker day yesterday and had to go to bed. It is a worry not knowing where to turn. It seems like we both need some fine tuning of our pacemaker. If only they would listen. Trouble is my Doctor insists on doing the adjustments himself and charges me each time with a big gap I have to pay. I am hesitant to go back when he knows best. I seem to have 1 or 2 good days than down I go again. Do you experience similar?
Thanks for your comments what you are experensing are very similar to the ptoblems I am having, it is difficult to get to the bottom of the Problem, from last year i had not felt so well for years to go back to this problem is difficult too understand. hopefully when i go back to Cardiology on the 12th of this month i may get some help with this problem i will let you know Mo
I am on my 3rd pacemaker after an ablation and pacemaker insertion 12 years ago. Since my new one on the 5th of May was ok with the exception of lacking energy to walk far. Prior to my last insertion i was walking 4k's a day. Since then no way. i went back to my Doctor 4 weeks ago and told him. He said he would make it more sensitive. Then I experienced headaches amd feelings of nausea on many occasions.
i went back the following week to be told my BP had gone sky high. 160/102. He then slowed the bottom setting from a resting pulse of 70 which i had for 12 years to 60. He refused to alter the top setting. Now i have been continually experiencing sick and nausea feelings etc etc and just don't know where to turn.
So Mo I can understand your concern.
HI Bob thanks
I am having problems with settings as I was told that maybe my problem was the sensitivety from a pacing Technician for my fast rythmn and nausea. I have had a pacemaker fitted last year & AV ablation for PSVT. For 6 months all was very well, then a visit to pacing and all the above symptons started, this was when a Technician said the above when I telephoned, so another trip to pacing and asked for a reduction of sensitivity which was done by a another operator she reduced by one segment, then it was ok again.
Next visit to pacing I was told that it was ok, but my symptons were all bad again, so on unlisted visit I requested an ajustment down & have been informed that the settings are ok? so i wondered how the settings are arrived at, as I am still not stable again.
That was my reason for the entry as I was looking for any further info but as I can't see or know what is happening only by how I feel, so I wondered how this setting was arrived at.
I have an appointment with Cardiologist in 2 weeks so was looking for help in how to approach the problem. Thanks again Mo
There are pacemaker adjustments for pacing, timing, voltage, programmed algorithms, and so forth. Is that what you mean?
