I went to a alllergy specialist and had all the test done . They all came back ok.
He then took a blood sampe and it came back showing it was my thyroids. I am already on thyroid medicne. I had never heard off this before.
I guess they will go away in time.
Thanks
The allegra and Zantac help alot but it does not get rid off them. I went to a allergy
specialist and he said it was my thyroid causing it.
He said they would go away in time. Good answer wasn,t it.
Thanks and I will let you know what he has to say when I go back.
Hello,
Thyroid diseases can lead to hives. Thyroid autoimmunity may be associated with chronic urticaria in some patients who are euthyroid (normal TSH), and that treatment with thyroid hormone can result in remission of their urticaria.
Also, Cymbalta and anavin that you are taking for depression can cause occurrence of hives in some patient.
First of all, the cause of allergy (allergen) has to be found out. For that, skin ***** tests or blood tests like (RAST) have to be performed. In this a small amount of allergen is injected in the skin of the forearm and response of the skin is seen. If there is redness and erythema then the skin is allergic to that allergen.
Also get your T3, T4 and TSH levels evaluated.
In addition to zyrtec and Claritin, you should carry an Epi pen. You can also go in for immunotherapy (allergy shots) if the symptoms persist.
Pls consult an allergy specialist/immunologist for the various options.
Regards and take care.
Goodness I hope mine dont last that long they are the worst thing, I am not taking any Meds as I learned the Hard way and had many of the side effects but not Hives, I got these after Dental Work and cannot get any answers what could have triggered them ,I go into the search engine for answers the dentist said Abslutly not that it wasnt any of the things he uses in Dental procedures and gave me a course of Penicillin, and infererd I was nervous.I read it could be Lidocaine and also maybe the material used in the Root canals. I am considering having them removed, I have had them since mid May, Do you find they flare up even when you are using the PC? I hope you get some answers soon and Post them for us other sufferers, The meds in your case may not be helping you.
