pains in right side of stomach

by amberlyn488, Aug 01, 2008 02:06AM
Hi, Im a 15 going on 16 year old girl that has not had sex or anything of that matter. Ive been getting sharp pains on the right side of my stomach. I do believe that its only on the right side, i havent experienced any on the left. It usually starts when I lay on my belly, and put pressure on it, but other times it just comes out of the blue. Like yesterday I was laying on my stomach and felt it. I could lay there still and not feel a thing, but if I made the slightest movement it would hurt again. The pains are usually to the right of my bellybutton, across or below it. If you would have any ideas what this might be, please reply to this or you can email me at ***@**** .

Please and Thank you.

Might be appendix.  Have it checked.

Could just be that you are ovulating.  Check with your doc, especially if it doesnt pass or gets worse.

Your forum really caught my attention! For the past six months my fifteen year old granddaughter has had the same kind of pain in her right side. We have had all sorts of tests done by doctors. A gynecologist found her problem by an ultrasound. She had three cysts on her ovary and one of them had ruptured. The doctor put her on birth control pills and they dissolved her cysts and she is fine now.

Is the pain upper by your ribs or lower toward mid-abdomen/hip area?

If it's by your rib it could be a gallbladder issue...
