Possible kidney stone???

Hello, I have been battling the following symptoms for a week:  hematuria, frequent urination, pain in my right flank which is increased during urination, nocturia, fever, chills, pain in the groin and urine hesitancy.  I was initially diagnosed in an urgent care facility with a kidney infection.  On the inital urinalysis, no bacteria were seen but I was started on Cipro while we awaited the culture.  However, three days later I was still miserable.  I saw my PCP, who started me on Amoxycillan in addition to the Cipro.  The following day, I learned that my culture had not shown bacteria growth.  My doc than begin thinking I had a kidney stone.  I had a stone protocol CT done yesterday and am awaiting the final results from the radiologist.  However, my PCP reviewed my scan and did not think anything was present other than a widening or stretching of the ureter where it met the bladder on my right side.  From my research, it seems that a stone (if that is what is widening the ureter) would be quite visible on the scan.  My doc indicated he was not familiar with the stone protocol and wasn't sure what he was looking at, so we have to wait until the final report comes in from the radiologist.

I have continued pain and my other symptoms continue to be present.  I have not seen visible blood in my urine, though a urinalysis yesterday morning confirms continued microscopic bleeding.  I'm worried that the radiologist may read the scan and find no stones...in that event, do you have any idea what might be causing my problems?

I am frustrated and in pain and it is Friday night so I will have to wait until Monday to get a definative answer.In the meantime,  I would welcome any input you might be willing to share!  Does it sound like a stone?  Is it possible to have a stone that wouldn't show up well to an untrained eye?  If not a stone (and doesn't seem to be an infection) do you have any other ideas????
