Need advice

by cynbryj, Aug 24, 2008 01:14AM
I am 24 years old and I have a small, red rough patch on my breast. It has been there for about 2 weeks and shows no signs of going away. I also have these small bumps on my nipples that have a white discharge occasionally. I need to know if I should be worried and what I should do.

This discussion is related to patches on the nipples.

Hi.

These are most likely local skin conditions such as eczema or superficial fungal infections.  This can be assessed and treated with medicated ointments by your doctor.  The small bumps on the nipples may represent comedone formation, or clogging of the sebaceous glands around the nipple.  This may later exude whitish, slightly foul smelling fluid.

However, there are rare instances where eczematous lesions on the nipple and breast can herald a possible Paget's disease of the breast.  This may or may not be associated with tumors underneath the nipple area.

I suggest you have this evaluated by your doctor.

Regards and God bless.

Hi,
If the discharge is pus like then you should get it checked by the dooctor asap. The discharge is always associated with some kind of infection, may or may not be related to tumor. The benign tumors are not associated with the discharge though.
