When i went to emergency for my heart racing the dr did blood work to check my thyriod as all the tests showed tha my heart was fine. He called my house to tell me my thyriod hormones were low. He said he'd fax the results to my family dr. My family dr said my thyriod was fine?? So I don't know. I'm seeing an endocrinologist the first week of septemeber so I'm hoping to get some answers then. My blood work was done in the am but my family doc told me to go in the am. I was already awake for 5 hours b4 i went for the lab work. it was about 600 over what is normal.
When hormone levels are out of whack there is no real quick fix. SOmetimes things may even out on their own - most of the time they don't.
High cortisol levels are not necessarily bad depending on when you took the test. For example If you took this test in the AM then they should be high and they slowly fall throughout the day, Ranges - especially in blood work for cortisol are not very helpful.
If you are concerned about this high level I suggest you either talk to your doctor about getting a saliva test or oder it yourself online.
This is an all day 24 hrs test that caculates your levels all day long. It is much better in picking up problems with FSH - cortisol - and estrogen dominance issues.
You are experiencing very general symptoms which could mean many things. - further testing should be done IF these issues are bothering you.
Was there any thyroid tests done?
