i am so embarrassed!!

I have been on Vicoden for about 1 year and 3 months. Over time i am now up to the max f 8 a day. I have a slipped disk and swollen feet, and really bad aristist(however you spell it) in my hips and knees. I am a couple of weeks away from have Gastric Bypass surgery becausei am also overweight. Most of my problems will go away after the weight is gone. My doctor doesn't want to take me off the pills until i have the surgery, i really don't know what to do. When i walk more i take more than 8 pills a day, so as of this moment i have been out this is day 2. Now i get weekly prescriptions to last a week. I have been out since yesterday and right now i am in so much pain. I go to the doctors today and she'll fill my script. Should i just continue to get off because its so much easier to just get them so i can function for the rest of the week. I don't know what to do. Please anyone have any sugestions. It hursts and then to top it all off i have also quit smoking 2 days no butts either, i am a mess!!
Any help would be good. I called into work today sick cuz i just can't do it.

wow!! you are doing so much at once!! definitely tell your doctor whats up with you.I would think that the post surgical would be hard if you have withdrawals too. My hubby is on day4 today so I cant be much help in experience--but God bless you and give comfort.

I would tell your doctor what is going on.Then I would listen to your doctor.
