If you click on the health pages button, it will take you there. I thought it would save you some time if you read a basic overview of Hashimoto's.
There are several topics on the health page that provide links to various sites. I think you will find it helpfull.
Feel free to ask any questions you wish here. I encourage you to do so. Welcome to the forum. I hope it is usefull to you.
Thank you very much for your information and if you could please give me the site of the health pages
His TSH is high because he is low on hormones.
His hormones are normal because the doctor ran old, inacurate, outdated tests.
He should be running a Free T4 test and a Free T3 test.
If you go to the health pages, you can read about different tests and what they mean. On the right, down the page quite a way, is a title that says "What do these blood tests mean?"
Click on that and it will give you a lot of information.
Hashimoto's can take many different paths. With antibody counts that high, the next few years may be difficult. Eventually he will be able to lead a normal life and take a little pill every day.
There is also a thread on the health pages that explains thyroiditis and several other conditions.
