WOW... I NEVER heard anyone say that they liked the feeling that Lyrica gave them. I've always been too afraid to try it. They give it to some of us with chronic migraines but I've only ever heard people say that it makes them feel sluggish, just like worried878 did. Most of the "preventatives" for my migraines make me feel pretty crummy. I'm now on one that I recently started taking (about a month ago) which is actually an anti-seizure drug, so that made me feel better about the possible seizures that can come along with barbituate withdrawal (I was taking Fiorinal).
It's so hard to know what to take or do sometimes. Being the addict that I am, I can abuse ANYTHING if I'm not doing the work it takes to STAY clean. And even then... it's really hard sometimes. But praise God... if I just give it to Him, things are SO much better.
I hope you're feeling well this evening, Larry!
God Bless!
ok ill keep that in mind..i personally dont like it eather but it does help with the withdraws
lyrica is not recommended for anyone with prior addictions...it is an abused drug..but taken short term for wds at the prescribed dose...it should be fine..some get euphoria from lyrica..i never did just a sluggish feeling so i told my doctor i did not want it anymore...i quit hydros with a friend and now lyrica is her drug of choice/she abuses it tho...she loves it...i hated it..everyone is different
as i said im down to 2 a day
i dont have a problem cheating...i have enough for 7 days and im in day two of tapering
once im out i have no other options..i refused my refills this month im done..
i have found however that lyrica helps with the withdrawls but i dont know if its habit forming...any know??
I was at ur dose for 4 years..i had no rls..just flu like symptoms for 4 days...tired, headache, nausea and the runs wer my worst symptom...back to work day 5..rls does happen to some..often heavier users than u and some people just have rls unrelated to drug use....exercise and take the supps recommended in the thomas recipe...this physical part is really not too tough...so get thru that part and keep posting....once u have finished..u will look back and wonder why u were so afraid of physical wds....where r u at in ur taper? what is ur quit day?...if u r having probs with cheating...hand them over to a friend to dole out...at ur dose many do better with CT...tapering works for some..great article in the health pages on tapering so u understand why small doses evenly spread out thru the day can help make wd easier..keep posting
thanks kim

I just responded to your new post, didn't notice this one until now.I believe the most powerful weapon we have in fighting our addiction is our faith, our commitment and determination ,along with the help and support of others who truly care. You have come to a wonderful place for help and support. We're all here for you....All the best....Kim

larry
you can do it!! we're all here with you :)
im really tryin this time..im so glad i found this site..
its good not to feel like the only one
I know it sounds crazy, but if you're mentally ready to be DONE, it will also make a bit easier for you. :) Do lots of praying also, I almost didn't believe enough in it until I actually did and went through it and I strongly believe that praying and my mindset has helped me this far!! Stay strong and congrats on your new life :):)
Have you tried the Thomas reciepe? The amino acid protocol?
They are on the bottom right of this page.
If you haven't stopped taking the pills then do so. Go through the w/d and you got it man. They are not untolerable, but they are not fun. All you have to deal with is the mental part then. Does require some "white knuckles" at times but you can do it.
Good luck, keep posting, you will get alot of help here!!
thank you for your support
these pills are takin over my life and im sick of feelin like ****. i think the pills make me feel worse than the back pain istarted takin them for. im so glad i found this place so i could meet some folks with similar probs.
oh , on the withdrawl i know all about it...been there...done that....
i know fully what im in for..
any ideas on how to make it easier??
thanks
larry
Well, you said you will not refill them, so thats the first step. Now comes the body aches, diarrhea, depression, pain, and RLS. are you ready for a couple weeks of that?? It's certainly not fun, but it is doable. Keep posting during this time if you can. There is lots of support here. So many here have done it, and you can too.
I wish you well,
Nauty..........
