constant cramps- anything to do with iud??

Alright, I am currently on the mirena IUD and have been on it since may of 07. I have never experienced any horrible side effects nor do i even re-call having severe cramping and bleeding in the begining ( as i see a lot of other woman do) since august of this year I have noticed that my periods are slowly vanishing and my cramps are getting more and more severe. even when im not on my period i wake up with cramps. I am assuming that its just side effect cause by my iud cause i now that its common for periods to disappear and its common for the iud to cause harsher cramps. but why would it happen all of a sudden. last night as i was laying down i started getting such severe cramps that it almost brought me to tears. i was just wanted to hear from anyone who may have any help, advice, or has been through this.

Hi, I've had the Mirena for @ 2 yrs now and just in the last few months I've been experiencing pain during & after sex. My period definetely went away but not the cramping.
