pain in pelvis...worried

a few nights ago i had "late night activities" with my boyfriend during which i was fine but shortly after, when i went to the bathroom, i had pelvic pain. the next morning, i noticed my left ovary hurt (nov. '07 doc found cyst there through pelvic exam) and was very sure of the pain. the pain continued through the day (a dull ache with occassional sharp stabs)to also hurt in my uterus/cervix. the pain was worse when i went to the bathroom (not burning though). i went to the doctor that evening. its not my bladder/urinary tract, i'm not pregnant, the pap and pelvic exam was downright PAINFUL, and while blood test results are coming in tomorrow nothing points towards an infection (fever, swelling, high white blood cell count..). tomorrow i'm going in for a sonogram to take a closer look at things. i'm only 21 but i'm scared out of my mind because my mom was the only one (of 4 sisters) to not end up with some kinds of major "female" problem (or hysterectomy). any ideas or insight?
