HPV??

by Help85, Sep 22, 2008 09:25PM
A week ago I woke up and noticed about 8 different consecutive "bites" on my upper leg. I thought, hmmm I don't remember that happening, and kind of ignored it. two days later it started to get a little puffy and turn a whitish color with swelling around the actual red bites. A day later my skin around the bite started to tingle to the touch, there was no visible rash, but the tingling spread to my inner thigh and up my back. It is only on the side that I have the "bite" marks. I went to the doctor the next night who was anything but helpful... he suggested 48 hours of watchful waiting. He said it looks like a bite or sting. It is a little hard to the touch. Well, now two days later, the tingling under my skin is persistant and turning more into sharp pains. My whole left side, is now aching to the point where it wakes me from my sleep. Now, almost a week later... I am breaking out in what appear to be new "bites" I suspect scabies. But not to minimize the initial "bites" because I think they are from a different cause. I suspected some sort of poison from an insect that bit me causing my swelling and tingling and now muscle aches... but I really have NO idea.. and neither did my useless doctor.

I consider myself to be a very clean and hygenic individual, but I know that does not stop scabies from having their way with you...

The reason I am posting this under the topic of HPV, is because the person that I have been seeing, (sleeping with) has now informed me that he has HPV. So now I am very concerned that these symtoms may be linked to his HPV that I may now have? If he were lying next to me (naked) and his genitals were against my leg while sleeping, is there anyway my leg was exposed and infected? Or is it only transferred and localized in the genital area?

This is a whole new topic for me in which I am very much not informed on... any response, suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!

HPV wouldn't cause any of those symptoms - warts are usually painless, don't change shape or form, etc.

I think you need to either go to an urgent care or back to your doctor for some further testing.  You shouldn't wait on this.  Ask them to do a wound culture.
