Previous month = shorter & lighter brown period, This month = No period???

Hi everyone, my situation is as follows:
Im 24 & do have unprotected sex. Roughly last month, instead of getting my period, I got a much shorter & lighter period & the blood that was coming out was brown... I passed it off as not being my period as I didnt really even needed to wear a pad throughout that but then my real full period never came for that month. I thought the reason may have been because I was sick with the cold/flu in that time (which is normal cuz it was that time of the month where the flu was going around so it was normal for people to get sick).
Well... it's been like over 30 something days & i still havent gotten my period for this month. I expected to get it a week ago but nothing... In addition, since the time i was expecting to get my period last week, my breasts have been really sore & tender (like it normally gets just before im due to get my period). Thing is, it's still sore & tender now... So to sum it up, last month I got a shorter, lighter period with brown discharge/spotting... This month, nothing at all & my breasts have been sore & tender for a whole week now...
I hear people say sometimes it's normal to miss your period due to short-term sickness, weight loss/gain or stress... I just want to know what's going on as it's freaking me out!!! First time it's ever happened like this & im too scared to confront anyone about it cuz my parents are still very strict on me... Please help!!! Thank you so much!!

take a test now and it will give you a correct result

sounds like you might have had implantation bleeding last month. definately take a pg test or go to your ob and have a blood test done. if it is positive congrats. if not definately go to your ob to see what's wrong.
