frequent chest pain

by Sunburntflamingo, Sep 24, 2008 01:40PM
Over the last few months i've had chest pain quite a bit. My chest feels really tight and it doesn't last very long usually about 5 to 10 minutes. It usually happens while i'm sitting down. It has though on a few occasions happened after i excersise though. I also have been very tired lately and at times it gets hard to breathe and i can't catch my breath. My mom has heart problems too. should i see a doctor??

Yes, you should definitely see your doctor.  There are many causes of new-onset chest pain.  Fortunately, most of them are benign, such as muscle strain due to exercise and/or heavy lifting, but more serious causes of pain can feel just the same, so do make an appointment to be examined, get a chest x-ray and electrocardiogram (EKG) at minimum.
