Hello,
All these symptoms are related. What you are having is GERD(gastroesophageal reflux disease). This acid reflux is leading to post nasal drip and also digestive symptoms . Post-nasal drip (PND) occurs when excessive mucus is produced by the sinuses. The excess mucus accumulates in the throat or back of the nose. It can be caused by rhinitis, sinusitis, or laryngopharyngeal acid reflux. It can be enhanced or sometimes even caused by allergies.
Take plenty of fluids throughout the day and inhale steam as many times as possible. . Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the build up of mucus in your nose. You may also find that adding some menthol crystals, or eucalyptus oil, to the water, helps to ease your symptoms of catarrh. Also use an over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever) like Ibuprofen. For the GERD, eat healthy, nutritious food and take it 2 hrs prior to bedtime. Also keep the head end of your bed elevated by two blocks and avoid eating a single, heavy meal.Take food at regular intervals. Also take some antacid like Mylanta or some PPI blocker like prilosec.
Oral thrush is caused when there is chance for the candida to grow in the body. This can happen in lowered immune levels.Oral thrush can also extend in the esophagus and stomach and cause various digestive symptoms.Pls take some oral antifungal medicines after consulting a physician.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.
