Hi

A swelling in the temple can be due to several causes like cyst, nodule, boil, injury, allergic reaction, sinus infection, enlarged lymph node or vascular disease (i.e. temportal arteritis).

Do you have any associated symptoms like headache, vision problems, pain (or tenderness) on the swelling or any pressure effects? Also since how long is this swelling present?

You should consult your personal physician for a complete evaluation and if required he may get imaging with a CT scan for a proper diagnosis.

Take care
