it was your way of learning self soothing- you just need to replace it and train yourself to soothe yourself in other ways- but you will need help and probably medication- my mom even did it for awhile in her 50's- it was a nervous habit and she broke it but promise you will tell someone
Hi you definatley need to speak to someone esecially if you are self harming, i would speak to a counseller they may be able to listen and give you advice. It doesn't mean you are going mad it just may be that you have issues that are being bottled up and you need to get them off your chest. If you speak to your gp they may be able to put you in touch with one or look up on the internet and it may give you a free number to ring if you don't want to go to gp. Please talk to someone.
