Recurring symptoms

by totema, Oct 01, 2008 12:10PM
hi,

I had unprotected sex and a couple of weeks after starting experiencing symptoms similar to a yeast infection. I went to get tested for Chlamydia and Gonnorhea but   thw results will take 15 days to arrive. Now the symptoms (vaginal discharge, pain when urinating) cleared after a few days but reapeared again. I was wondering if it was common for symptoms related to STDs to clear and then come back?
Thanks

Maybe the yeast infections meds calmed the skin down for a few days, and masked some symptoms, and that's why they disappeared for a few days.

Did they give you any meds, or do you have to wait until the results come back in?  If symptoms worsen, call your doctor promptly.

Thanks! I didnt get any meds, I was not even examined. The nurse just took a blood sample and that was it. I did not take meds for the first infection; it just cleared after a few days... Now I'm worried because 15 days to wait for results is so long!

You need to have an exam, and some other testing done.  Do you know what the blood tests were for?

Thanks AJ for responding to my post.
I assume the blood test was for detecting Chlamydia and Gonnorhea as that is the reason why I went there and those were the tests I asked for. They also took a urine sample but no exmination. In the meantime the physical symptoms come and go so... I am worried!

Oh ok - the urine will be used to test for gonorrhea and chlamydia, I hope, as that is more accurate than blood testing.

All you can do now is wait, which I know stinks, but if the symptoms get worse, call the doctor.
