Flomax side effect

by skytrot, Oct 04, 2008 01:19PM
I just started taking flomax, my third dose and I notice a slight burning sensation in my urethra. This effect is not mentioned in anything I have read.Is this a side effect of the drug?

by Stephen Liroff, MD, Oct 06, 2008 12:13AM
No, I have not heard this complaint from any of my patients so far nor have I read about this. This does not mean that it cannot be an untoward effect, however. Discuss this with your prescribing physician, get a urinalysis/urine culture. Something else may well be going on. You can always stop the drug and see if there are any changes.
