I just had my my breast implant 10 days ago. after 7 days I noticed I have a big bruised at the side of my breast going down a little bit to the back mybe 11/2 inch long. I called my surgeon he told me I am going to see him on monday 11/3/08. my question is, is someone out there experience this, and  if it is, how the way it was treated.

Thank you for the comment. I did go to my doctor today about this bruising , He looked into the  bruised for few second only and said its fine and walk away. The nurse said that maybe twisting my body had pulled something inside that cause the bleeding , but it doesn't look hematoma, never gave any options on how to treat the bruising. I guess not to worry about., myself I do because its kind of blackened color but hoping it will go away a period of time, I just thankful it doesn't hurt. I would love to hear any comment and suggestion about this.
I also had planned to go on vacation to Cancun this thanksgiving week, I have until wenesday to decide etheir going or cancel the trip. I know I have limitations because I am still healing but my question is: Is it a good idea to continue the trip or just postponed to avoid interuption of healing ..I would really appreciate your ideas...Thank you

Hi.

I believe that what has just happened is called a hematoma formation which is the collection of blood underneath the skin.  this can be due to some injured blood vessels in the surgical site, or also that of clotting problems.

Calling your doctor is the perfect thing to do and I hope this can be seen as soon as possilbe.  Possible treatments would include placement of vacuum drains (if the blood collection is quite significant), or just supportive treatment with warm or cold compresses.

Regards.
