Weening myself off of Klonopin

Good Evening Forum,
This is Bob again. It has been three weeks. I went from 2 tablets (each tablet of Klonopin is .5 mg) to 1/2 tablet per day. I take a half of tablet before I hit the sack. I've been on a 1/2 for the last three days. Believe me forum, this medication is not easy to ween yourself off of. Please follow your Docs advice. I was on Lexapro at the same time as Klonopin. Now I'm down to just Klonopin alone, an unbelievable 1/2 a tablet or .25 mg worth of Klonopin. It has not been an easy ride. This benzo is extremely powerful. I'll let you know when I completely get off of it.

Thank you for your support. When I read your comments, I began to tear. You are awesome. It really means a lot to me. I have been totally off of Lexapro and Klonopin for the past 4 days. I am taking vitamin C and vitamin B6, since the reason I have been on Klonopin and Lexapro is to minimize my anxiety triggered by Asthma, I have been diagnosed with Asthma since birth, and I had read that vitam C and B6 are good for asthmatics like me.
The waves come and go and I pray to higher power like Jesus and Deepak Chopra's book of secrets. I cannot do this on my own. This has not been easy. Thank you for pulling for me.

Keep it up! I detoxed off of xanax in 05' after the hurricane. I was taking a lot b/c I had severe anxiety and panic attacks and then when the hurricane came it intensified big time. I detoxed with my doctor using phenobaritol. You will have bad anxiety for a while but it does go away. You body just has to ajust. I was on Lexapro too and I found that it made my anxiety worse. I tried every SSRI anti-depressant and no of them worked for my anxiety. When I got off the lexapro I felt so much better. Klonopin has a long -half life like valium so its good that your tapering. You will do fine! Be strong! You will be so happy when its over!

Good for you. I have been on benzos for years and take 2mg a day. I fret the day that I am told to weab off as I suffer from moderate to sometimes severe general anxiety and worry about EVERYTHING!!! I take the littlest thing and harp on it forever! Lexapro was not good for me as it made my hands tremor. Take wellbutrin now. Hoping this helps but so far it hasnt. I was in full blown w/d from benzos a few months ago and didn;t know it. I was so consumed with getting off the opiates that I never realized I was addicted to benzos until I felt like I was dying of a heart attack. Dam*, the anxiety attacks felt like I drank 1,000,000 red bulls. In my addict mind, I hope to never come off the klonopin. You know that your doctor can prescribe a medication to ease the w/d so you don't put yourself at risk for a seizure which I am sure you won't at such a low dose, Epileptic people who take this drug can take up to 20mg a day. Can u imagine that much? I would be in la la land for sure. Good lucj and I am pulling for ya.

sounds like u have a plan and are following thru!  congrats...valerian root helps me sleep and perhaps can take the place of the klonopin when u quit for a while til u are used to sleeping without them..keep posting
