Lower back pain and pelvic pain

Please can ANYONE help me! Im going out of my mind with worry! It all started bck In August I had a water Infection which was diagnosed and cleared up! Then I notice similar symptoms, was given anti-biotics that didnt clear it! I had swabs taken and it was confirmed I had bacterial vaginosis!
This cleared up after ant-biotics, but symtoms returned, had more antibiotics but hasnt cleared symptoms! I have lower back pain and pelvic pain, I also think I feel sick but I dont know If that is just worry?
I have had more swabs today and also a smear, I get the results for the swabs next week! I evn went ot the hospital, because I was so worried but they just sent me home!
Could I have PID?

Thank you for your reply, Im assuming a culture test was done the first time? But the symtoms are back and anti-biotics havnt cleared it, am awaiting my swab results next week!
I am seriously hoping this is not an STD as I have been with my partner for 21 years!
I am not eating or sleeping with worry,as I think I have cancer even though I have not symptoms ie:- bleeding and other signs!
Many thanks again as your comments have calmed me down slightly!

Hi
Thanks for the post!

Your symptoms do point to pelvic inflammatory disease, with recurrence of symptoms. PID also causes back pain. This can be diagnosed by an internal examination or  ultrasound/CT Scan.

You were diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis, so was a culture sensitivity done to see what the bacteria were and to which antibiotic they were sensitive to? It could also be a case of chronic bacterial vaginosis with bacteria resistant to common antibiotics.

If there is a chance, it could also be a STD, and a STD panel needs to be done to rule out sexually transmitted diseases.

Hope this helps. I think you should discuss this with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
