itchinggg

hello alll, i am a 16 year old girl and after shaving my legs about 2 days ago, my legs have NOT stopped itching!
It's driving me insane! I just wanna cry! But not only that, ive been itching all over aswell. Neck, arms, back, ears, face. I have no idea what it is! I've always itched after shaving my legs but ive never experienced this much itching in my life before. I can use baby lotion on my legs and it will soothe it for a bit but it just carries on soon after. Also, there is no rash. But i keep getting scars from itching so much!
I am from England.
I really feel sorry for all of you women who suffer as i do.
Please, any suggestions would be helpful on how to stop this from itching so severely. Thank you.

Nataliew, I was on a medical site earlier. You need to check one out. I searched through skin problems. They may have some info that may help you, also. You may need to go get some blood work done. RJ

My wife had a similar issue not too long ago.  She had to get a mild antibiotic and replace her razor.  What had happened was she had borrowed my razor on a few occasions, and there was a slight reaction between her body and whatever skin/blood cells there were on my razor.  Understand that when you shave, you are removing some toplayer skin cells, and even if you don't cut yourself to the point of drawing blood, you can have tiny abrasions, allowing entrance under your skin to whatever may be on the razorblade.  If you share a razor with someone, stop.  If you haven't changed the razor out in a while, replace it.  Itching can occur when your body is fighting some incompatible organic matter entering your body, such as germs, or as if you had received a transplant from an incompatible donor.  The body realizes the tissue is foreign, and will attack it.

You can go to the drugstore and ask the pharmacist what the best thing available to take for allergies. Benedryl is one, and another popular one is Zertex. You could have eaten or bathed in something that has caused such a reaction. Dry skin can cause itching too. Find a lotion that has menthol in it and put it all over the itchy places. I have used shampoos that have menthol in them to shower in. They make an oatmeal bath that may help also. If you don't get any relief, go to the dr. they have shots available. Another thing possible is something you have breathed. I had that problem while working at a shoe factory. Eventually, I found it was an odorless glue I was using for a part of the shoe. Have you recently changed what you bathe in? If not, it may be an ingredient has been changed. Try a soap for sensitive skin with no dyes or perfumes usually labeled free and clear. What you wash your clothing in can cause it. You can go to a free & clear washing detergent. Use an electric razor or a razor with an aloe strip to shave your legs. I have the same problem. Let me know how you do. RJ
