Reoccurring

Hey Doc.. I have a problem.  I live in North america originally but have  been in asia for the last 4 months.  I had unprotected sex about 2 and a half months ago.  Soon after, I started getting a clear discharge during the day.  White in the morning.  The doc said it's urethritis and gave me antibiotics.  The symptoms subsided but maybe 2 weeks later i got an infection again.. I was given antibiotics.. then came back.. urine test showed i was cleared.. every 2 weeks i seem to get reinfected.. for the last month i have not been sexually active at all.. i have a white discharge in the morning.. i am not sure how i'm getting this.. i do work in a strenuous job that is long hours.. can you provide insight?

i had a full blood test done.. everything came up negative.. the doc said he thinks i have a small amount of bacteria in my urethra.. so it's not being detected.. so i'm on antibiotics again..i'm not sure..

I don't know if I'd say your prostate is damaged, but once you have prostatitis, you are prone to getting it again, and those things can certainly irritate your urethra and prostate.

So it's months later and today I had discharge in the morning.. I talked to a friend back home who had the same symptoms as me.. he told me I damaged my prostate from the infection and that drinking caffeine, alcohol or eating spicy food irritate the prostate.. The discharge is prostatic fluid..

Good.  It sounds like he is treating you for bacterial prostatitis.  I hope you feel better soon.

so it turns out.. it's very hard to diagnose what is going on.. but this doc was up front and honest.. he said basically that i have bacteria deep in my urethra.. from sexual intercourse.. when i do things to weaken my immunie system or irritate the urethra such as drinking alcohol and eating spicy food this can turn into an accute infection that spreads down the urethra.. i was tested and don't have an accute infection.. but i told the doc..this bacteria must be there.. so i want to insure it is gone once in for all.. so he agreed.. that i will take antibiotics over a two months period.. to completely eliminate this bacteria..he started with a drug that is effective in penetrating the prostate.. so i have to spend two months incredibly clean and hope that it does the trick..

I'll ask the doc today.  I have had numerous tiimes where my urine test came out clean.  So it appears that i am getting reinfected somehow..

Well, if you have a prostate infection, that can cause elevated white blood cells in your urine.

ok. I'll try that.  I have had urine tests that showed it is an infection.  So i am getting a bacterial infection.  But it's unknown why it keeps reoccurring.

I'd suggest getting your prostate checked.

I wasn't tested for those.  But i was given medication that would have wiped those out.  I have been clean at points and reinfected.. and have not had sex ..so the cause is not sexual.
