high fever,lung pain, cough,stop smoking

Hi, I stop smoking 1 week ago because I felt lungs pain.
I'm now, since yesterday night with high fever, 38,5 / 39, plus heavy cough and lung back pain ( both right and left).
I also have a pain below and under the rib only on my front left hand side.
Is it all due to my stop smoking body reaction?

You are all not alone! Just keep on persisting. It will pay off! And dont go back. There are many withdrawal symptoms and everyone is different. It is all worth it in the end. Im trying to quit after 26 years of smoking and its because ive started feeling chest pains. Its been 3 days now since i stopped but believe me 3 days is a long time for me as i could not go 30 minutes without one. I am still experiencing chest pains but im not certain if its from the lungs, heart or stomach as it feels like i may have acid in my stomach which may be coming up. I think i will see a doctor tomorrow to see what tests i should take as i am worried about the pains. I am hoping that they are just withdrawal symptoms and i dont have a severe problem. No matter what though, its better to stop no matter at what point of severity you may be at. I had stopped about 19 years ago for about 2 to 3 years and started again. I wish i hadnt. For all smokers its the same. You always look for the excuse of having another one. Ive tried many times and didnt last long because of that. Ive have finally realized that at the age of 45 i am feeling the effects of smoking and if i dont stop NOW, im afraid that i will have more severe problems very soon and my body is telling me that im not the same anymore! My body is telling me that its destroying me! This is how i have mentally decided. It is the mental factor that you need to stop. If you really dont want to stop, you wont. When you really want to stop, you will even though your body is telling you not to. I hope you can all persist and stop. Don't kill yourselves! You can stop now!
Good Luck!

hey whats up people.  Just wondering if anybody can help me here.  I quit smoking 24 days ago and I feel like crap. I get dizzy sometimes, hard the breathe sometimes. When i wake up, sometimes i have blood in my nose. I havent really cough anything up yet. One day im really good, next like crap. Its weird and its starting to drive me nuts. I get in really mad mood cause of not smoking and cause of the aftermaths. Sometimes it feels like my heart is beating fast and skipping a beat etc..  I just think its from all the poison leaving my body. Its gotta be it. But i dont know.  I dont go on this site   so if anybody wants to give me some really good feed back you can e mail at ***@****.  Hope to here from you all and take care and thank you    steve

I am sooooo glad I am not alone in this. I seriously thought i was going to die and have a heart attack. Dizzyness, stomach problems, loss of appetite, chest pains. I cannot believe I put my body through so much trauma that it actually feels this way during withdrawl. But you know, if i didn't feel this way, I probably wouldve picked up a cigarrette already. Hope to stay smoke free!!!

I quit only 3 weeks ago, but I had smoked at least a pack a day for 26 years.  I have been hacking up nasty loogies for a couple of weeks now. my throat hurts, i can't fall asleep or stay asleep either.  When I do fall asleep I have unusually wierd dreams about dying.  My latest is that I had a heart disease and the other was I had a huge spot of skin cancer.  bizarre!  I quit cold turkey and haven't been taking any stop smoking drugs such as chantix. I feel dizzy all the time and feel like I'm going to throw up.   I google stopped smoking and feeling sick. I came up with a lot of posts and glad I'm not alone.  I am glad I quit and will never go back to my addiction even if I have to go thru these withdrawals, I just hope that don't last forever.

i quit this morning and several times before and i have these same sgmptoms hacking cough like i didnt have before, fever, burning eyes, throat pain, and my chest aches all the way down cause of coughing, and makes me feel like i got a flu-like cold. i feel like crap and im contemplating stayin in bed for a few days, because yes quitting makes you sick its not just in your head, im using the patch, but no matter what you use the chemicals are what your withdrawing from wnen you use them.  and for someone who doesnt use a nicotine type help like gum patch or something their symptoms are worse than this.  people who get off drugs have to withdraw too and in grade school they taught that cigarettes were drugs too remember.  proud of your resolution. mind over body. flu like symptoms ofsickness will pass. congrats to us all we wont regret it in the overall long run when our friends are wishing they had quit. lol
