Did you ever get a diagnosis to your rib cage discomfort?  I too have this problem that hasn't been figured out yet.

Had numerous tests particulary gastroscopies the last one gave barratts hiatus hernia and gastritis Still have tight band around middle which seems to be much worse but I have been really constipated over last few weeks . Have also been told i have IBS Can anyone tell me is it the hiatus hernia that could be giving the problem or more likely the constipation really fed up. No pain just real bad discomfort

theres thing with the hernia you can do to live a better life.read up on it,and figure what works best for you,,,try elevating the head of your bed 6 inches, this usualy helps you sleep better, and stop reflux.
also avoid certain foods,exct.
gasteritis is the docs way of saying they have no clue whats wrong with you!!
kinda like diagnosing unexplained pain as fibromayalgia,,,,,ya right!
there is always a reason for stuff, they just dont have a clue half the time!!
