I am almost eight months post liver transplant.  I was lucky to be up and walking within 24 hours and out of the hospital in four days.  Was it painful?  No more than the discomfort I was having with the PSC that caused the transplant.  The most discomfort was the water weight gain that came with the blood products given during the surgery.  It was gone in  three weeks.  I am now back to a normal life and the only two restrictions are how much I can lift and the need to watch my sugar intake.

Why the deal with your sugar intake?
Thanks,

Congratulations on your great recovery. I have a friend who was transplanted for PSC in 2000. She is doing well. I wish you the best. Mike

I am 7 weeks post.Doing pretty good.I was out of the hospital after 6 days.Doing real well but have depeloped kidney stones which makes it a bit harder. The actuall operation did not hurt as bad as my lower back does.I have had surgury on my back and it still hurts.Dont be afraid to have it done. Its amazing the way the mind forgets pain.
Good Luck,
Bob
