Just a quick comment to those who automatically trust allopahtic medicine over more natural based therapies. There have been numerous studies regarding the proper usage and utilization of Colloidal Silver and the many health benefits. Brigham young University is one university that has conducted extensive double blinded, quantitative research studies on it's effectivness on health and wellness. I am an ex-pharm rep who worked for Ortho McNeil selling the "pills" to many MDs. Big mistake to think that Allopathic medicine is always right and will tell you up-front the possible dangers of a drug-HA! Lies and deception regarding the promotion of pharmaceuticals is an epidemic. To overlook natural approaches in favor of the blanket pharmaceutical route is just plain ignorant. Colloidal Silver has anti-viral benefits amoung other things. I would most surely use it for the treatment of Hepa-B, C, or A. The grey patches that are supposed to be "serious" are benign in nature and occurred in an extrememly low percentage of the population many years ago. Today, a person would have to consume huge quantities of Silver to aquire this problem. Please educate yourself before you give advice. The greatest perpetration of ignorance is ignorance.

the preceding comments to you are right on the dot...there are no proven sustained viral response cases from CS or other so called alternatives. A viral load count is the only bona fide test that a treatment is working.
With fibrosis already present in the liver, I would not play around with alternatives for too long. Conventional medicine is not out to get you, but these alternative tx promoters are, they want your money and prey on your disdain for mainstream medicine.
I hate having to take a toxic treatment, but I want to rid myself of this destructive organism, and so far, at wk 66 of Pegasys and Copegus and negative from the virus for about 40 wks, I am not doing too bad. There were a few crises, but not enough to stop the Tx.
Best of health to you
The decision to postpone conventional treatment either by using alternative means or to wait until a more effective treatment with less side effects is available is a highly personal matter. Only you can make the call on what will be best for you.
Having said that I would caution you on many of the claims that are out there. Often there are unscrupulous firms/practicioners preying on people that are vulnerable to their claims. From what I've researched colloidal silver can be ineffective and have long lasting complications. Here is some of the sx from using CS:
Colloidal silver is a suspension of submicroscopic metallic silver particles in a colloidal base. Long-term use of silver preparations can lead to argyria, a condition in which silver salts deposit in the skin, eyes, and internal organs, and the skin turns ashen-gray. Many cases of argyria occurred during the pre-antibiotic era when silver was a common ingredient in nosedrops. When the cause became apparent, doctors stopped recommending their use, and reputable manufacturers stopped producing them. The official drug guidebooks (United States Pharmacopeia and National Formulary) have not listed colloidal silver products since 1975.
Dubious Ads
In recent years, silver-containing products have been marketed with unsubstantiated claims that they are effective against AIDS, cancer, infectious diseases, parasites, chronic fatigue, acne, warts, hemorrhoids, enlarged prostate, and many other diseases and conditions. Some marketers claim that colloidal silver is effective against hundreds of diseases.

here's a link to some alternative treatments for hep c, including some info (and FDA warnings) about collodial silver. i'm not sure how the "naturapath" you're seeing defines "success" in treating hep c with this product.....i doubt if he/she is conducting PCR tests to measure how the amount of virus in the blood responds to collodial silver, though it's possible that liver enzyme measurements (ALT, etc.) might be taken to check for improvement in liver inflammation. these enzymes ebb and flow during the course of the chronic disease, and unless there's a pronounced sustained improvement in the levels, it would be hard to tie it to the supplement. most importantly, your chances of eliminating the virus merely by ingesting collodial silver are virtually nil. some people clear the virus on their own, but after 30 years, the probability of that happening at this point may be very low. if the "naturapath" is claiming to have erradicated the virus in multiple cases simply by having patients take this supplement, i'd strongly suspect quackery. sorry if that sounds harsh, but you need to be careful -- herbal supplement companies and those who recommend the products often make a habit of unsubstantiated claims. some products *do* work in selected applications and situations, so please don't misunderstand -- i'm definitely not condemning the entire industry. you can't beat hep c with silver though, in my opinion. best of luck to you -- hopefully i didn't misspell your nickname above. here's that link:
