What you describe indeed sounds like a seizure. Seizures can have many reasons, with head trauma (like in your son's case) being one of them. In this case the trauma is probably the cause and not the plates in his skull, since they usually don't do that.
Like in any other case of seizure, your son needs to see a doctor about this. This is because the seizures aren't necessarily dangerous, but can develop into more severe seizures. Another reason to see a doctor in this case is to make sure the seizures are indeed related to the accident and not to a new cause. The doctor can perform a brain image or an EEG and see the origin of these seizures and see if they fit the place of the lesion from the accident.
