I wonder what happens if you already have a hypothyroid?
I would love for mine to be hyper for a little while.  Maybe mine will speed up a little but not enought to by hyper.  Then maybe I could loose some weight.

Same with me but first mine went hyper and then it went hypo. That is very common to happen that it switches out. I am on Synthroid most likely for the rest of my life too.

It's not the best news but it's not the worst...it's something that is manageable after all.

hi,

me too, and I also found out around the same time as you. I have been on beta blockers for 10 weeks now and carbimazole for 6 weeks and things are becoming a lot calmer. Noy gone hypo yet, but from what I have read this can happen. My doc told me that it was probably something that was going to trouble me at some time in the future, but that the interferon hurried speeded it up a bit.

Good luck with it,

xx

Mine also went hyperthyroid during my 48 week treatment in about the same week as yours and following the next few weeks it went hypothyroid.  Went to an Endocrinologist and was put on thyroid meds probably for the rest of my life.  I have heard this is a possible side effect unfortunately from the interferon.    But I guess its better than the alternative.  Keep plugging along.   I finished 48 weeks of treatment 8 weeks still undetected 1b  and feel great its all worth it.  Good luck!
