Hello Doc,
i have the same problem. This started recently and the degree or irritation seems to be increasing by the day. At night, while i was asleep, i scratched myself so hard that i scraped my skin bloody. Now it is tough for me to even walk, so i am on leave of absence from work. What should i do ?. Another question i wanted to ask you is, Is it medically advisable to have pubic hair or is it better to keep it shaved.
Thank you for your time, i will be waiting for your reply.
regards.
Shawn.

Hello,
Ithcy scrotum can be due to jock itch. Jock itch shows up in post-adolescent men and hormonal changes during puberty, lifestyle and heredity each play a role.Predisposing fungal disease like tines cruris may also aggravate it.

Wash your scrotum daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels.Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment.

If the itching persists then pls get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
