I am the wrong person to talk about lowering your cholesterol.
I have the opposite problem, I want mine to rise.
If you want to lower your cholesterol keep taking the VYTORIN thats what it does.
Heres a link to an Australian site that will give you an idea of how it works and its side effects. http://tinyurl.com/ysmeva

Heres a link that describes the causes of Fatty Liver. http://tinyurl.com/2gzpwd

Google it. There is quite a lot of info on Steatosis. Then ask your Doctor.
Be thankful you dont have HepC or HepB for that matter.

Thank you CS for your comments.

I read the document on vytorin, and I see that cough as one of them. I will talk to my doctor about it. I will also avoid solid vegetable fats.  I have also been tested for hepatitis, and my results came negative. What should I do to decrease my increased levels of Cholesterol, triglycerides and liver enzymes?

I really cannot relate my steatosis to any specific cause.... I wish

My understanding of steatosis in G3s (actually 3a) is that when you SVR the steatosis with clear or at the very least be reduced. This is because both host and viral factors are present in G3 steatosis. SVR removes the viral factors. Both host and viral factors are present in steatosis in all genotypes, but only G3 will drastically reduce the level of steatosis with SVR.

Latest cholesterol readings I recall put my LDL near 100 (near top end of optimal) and HDL way below normal (around 20).

The cough is a side effect of the drug see http://www.drugs.com/vytorin.html.
You should keep taking it but also tell your doctor.

ALT levels will be high when you have steatosis.
Its not just animal fats that you need to worry about.
Any solid vegetable fat and trans fats among others are not that good either.

If you have HepC steatosis is common.
