lortab abuse

i have been taking hydrocodone 10/500 for around 5 years now.I was nearly to the point where i was taking anywhere from 30-50 pills a day 7 days a week. Thats 300-500 mg of codiene a day. I even had days every now and then where i would benge and take 70-100 pills dont ask me how i am not dead. I have a relly good job and a very lovely family and its to the point about 2 years ago after almost everyday use it would stop workin on me so i would take more to try and compensate( so it got to a very disturbing amount). My job and family life is suffering so much i am deciding to stop no matter what it takes i got it through my head already and i am changing a whole lifestyle for it. My question is that of is there anything besides meetings that can help me out. Some form of pill to help w/ symptoms (not methadone i dont want to get addictied to something else) anybody has any ideas ? anything

Suboxone or Subutex can be used for outpatient detox... for a short time.. Its a really new drug.. If taken incorrectly it can produce stronger Wd's. similiar to methodone. and if taken for a long period of time It WILL produce dependence.. It is an opiate.. however it has a ceiling effect and does not produce the euphoria that pills do..
I used it for a 10 day detox from hydrocodone.. I had very mild discomfort after stopping it.. I have been clean for 26 days. I stopped hydro 36 days ago.. Clonidine also helped alot..

Hi...I believe that with the amounts of hydro that you have been taking that this is a medical issue. Is there anyway you could go to an inpatient facility? If not then at least an outpatient program. I know that there is a pill called suboxone that has helped me and several others on this forum, however, you need to find a doctor in your area who is qualified and certified to prescribe it. If you go to www.suboxone.com there is more info so you can be more informed. Good luck.
