Best Foods for Breastfeeding Moms

Water

While you're breastfeeding, your need for fluids increases. Upping your fluid intake is important for the production of adequate amounts of breast milk. Drink enough fluids to satisfy thirst. A common suggestion for nursing moms is to drink a glass of water every time you breastfeed. Stay away from soft drinks and other sugary beverages – they’re just “empty calories” that displace higher-quality calories you can get from real food.
