Heart Health Benefits of Green Tea

Green tea is produced from the Camellia sinensis plant.  Green tea is very popular due to its great taste and all the health benefits that it offers. 

Green tea has a high concentration of antioxidants.  This is important because antioxidants stop free radicals from damaging healthy cells.  Free radicals have been largely associated with causing cell damage which can result in heart disease as well as some forms of cancer.  In addition, green tea also contains the ingredient Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCF).  This has been noted as being more effective than other vitamins. 

Green tea is also beneficial as an anti aging agent.   Many facial creams utilize green tea due to it antioxidants which can rejuvenate the skin.  Younger-looking skin with more elasticity can be accomplished by adding green tea to your diet.    

Green tea has also been found to beneficial in weight loss.   Obesity is a medical condition that increases the risk of other harmful disease such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea and osteoarthritis.  Obesity has been found to reduce the life expectancy of a person.   Green tea weight loss research has shown an association of drinking green tea every day with a reduction in body fat.   It appears than green tea increases metabolism rate because of its mixture of EGCF and caffeine.  Green tea has no calories so it can be enjoyed without guilt.  

Green tea is also beneficial to health in that it can lower cholesterol, helping to protect the heart.  The catechism found in green tea diminishes lipoprotein in the blood.  

Another health benefit of green tea is its ability to inhibit blood clots. EGCF impedes the abnormal development of blood clots.  This is very important because thrombosis (the formation of irregular blood clots) is a leading cause of stroke and heart attacks.
