Drug Name: PROPOXYPHENE HCL/APAP-ORAL
Uses: FDA has requested that manufacturers voluntarily withdraw propoxyphene-containing medications from the US and Canadian markets due to several problems with safety, and its limited effectiveness. This combination medication is used to treat mild to moderate pain. Propoxyphene is a narcotic pain reliever (opiate-type) that acts on certain centers in the brain to give you pain relief. Acetaminophen is a non-narcotic pain reliever.
