Prednisone is in a class of drugs called steroids. Prednisone prevents the release of substances
in the body that cause inflammation.
Prednisone is used to treat many different conditions such as allergic disorders, skin conditions,
ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders.
