Weight Gain

Mar 20, 2012 - 0 comments

I am having such a hard time keeping my weight steady. On any given day I am either 117, 118, 119, or 120 when I am lucky. Then it goes back down. What the heck. I can't break the 120 barrier. Instead it just drops and I start all over.

Switched to a Midwife

Midwife

I have decided I am going to St Alphonsus in Boise and have already talked to the Certified Nurse-Midwife that I want to see. Her name is Charlotte Salinas and she is also certified in labor support and as a lactation consultant. I have decided that I want to have an all-natural birth with minimal interventions. I do not even want to know how far dilated I am until I feel like I am ready to push (although I know they will do an initial one when I get to the hospital). No pain medications. Relaxation and breathing techniques with my labor support, my midwife and fiance. Learning all I can. Knowledge is power, anxiety increases pain. My OB wasn't happy about the switch, told him today. But he kept trying to tell me I could have the "same experience" with him, but it sounded more like "you can't have a natural birth." I am glad I made the switch, I'm 31 weeks pregnant and he still doesn't know who I am or what tests I've taken. I know people that had him and he always suggests inducing labor or unnecessary C-sections to save time. I just need to make sure they fax the paperwork!! New Midwife appointment is next Thursday! (And for all you natural birth haters, the hospital I am going to always has OB/GYNs on staff and has the best NICU in the state of Idaho)

Kidney Stone X2

Kidney Stone

Went back to the hospital for kidney stones.
This time it hurt worse than before.
And there were a bunch of ladies in the OB giving birth so I didn't get much attention.
Got hooked back up to the IV with fluids and pain meds and got 2 kidney stones to pass.
They were huge. I was really surprised.
I DO NOT WANT THAT #@*( to happen again.
But it looks like I am one of those people who are prone to kidney stones while they are pregnant.
Week 26 was No Fun for Me.

Kidney Stone

Owwww.... It Started on Sunday, back pain that spread around my side and made me really nauseous and extremely uncomfortable. I slept it off and Monday I was fine. It started again Monday morning...it was way worse. I didn't know what was going on. Made an emergency trip to My OB doctor and was admitted into Labor and Delivery. Turns out it was a kidney stone. They kept me overnight with lots of IV fluids and water and I passed it. I was on Dolonapin? for most of the time, wouldn't have survived without it. I might get another one later down the line. So much for my easy pregnancy. No UTI's, just Kidney Stones.
