I went home on Saturday to visit my parents. My mother looks at me and says, "Are you putting on some weight? You look like an apple." I asked if she meant a pear. And she said, "No, a pear would be that you have a bigger butt. But you're putting on weight in the middle, like an apple." Oh, and this is all in front of my boyfriend!

My trip to Georgia could not have been good for my weight. No exercise due to the rain with the exception of a little badminton and swimming on Monday (the only day the sun came out) and lots of good food - fried chicken, fried okra, fried zucchini, lots of bacon, grits, pizza, butter.

I'm dreading getting on that scale, but will have to suck it up and see what the damage is. I have the feeling the weight will continue to climb for a bit. Will be eating lots of sushi and need to start exercising again.

Trip to Georgia

A trip to Georgia is never good for my weight. Let's see if I can recap everything I ate here in the last couple days:

-Chick-Fil-A fried chicken sandwich
-Fried green tomatoes with a blue cheese dip
-Fried calamari
-Shrimp and grits
-Pulled pork sandwich
-Steak, dinner rolls, asparagus
-Pound cake with chocolate ice cream
-Homemade fried chicken (yummy!), fried okra, corn bread
-Italian sausage, dinner rolls, beans, collard greens
-More fried chicken
-Mellow Mushroom pizza with the works
-Lots of coffee and Diet Coke

Killing me slowly with exercise

I think my boyfriend is trying to kill me with all this exercise. On Saturday, we did 3 hikes, totaling 15 miles. On Sunday, we did another hike of about 9 miles and 1200 feet in elevation gain. He said he would take it easy on me on Monday with just a 5 miles hike. Good! Except that the hike went straight up the mountain in Squaw Valley. It was more bouldering than hiking and with 1500 in elevation gain in 2.5 miles, we pretty much went straight up. Needless to say, it was not easy.
