hypothyroidism

ONe of the ways I found out that I was hypothyroid, was because I was getting high blood pressure at 36 years old, and not being overweight. A nurse told me that sometimes your blood pressure is high when your thyroid is off. Sure enough, I got diagnosed and finally got regulated on the correct dosage, after a year of gaining 2 lbs per month and eating 1000 calories a day and walking 3 miles - 5 times/ week.
Any way the blood pressure came down.
Now my cholesterol level is high, even though I eat, exercise right. I think my meds need changing, but my "lab" results come back "normal" all the time despite recent weight gain, depression and fatique!
Any body have similar results in cholesterol, and any way to reverse it? I eat oatmeal every day and work out 5 times/week.
