Thyrogen injection

Had first thyrogen injection today;  another 6/18;  oral radiation pill 6/19 and then radiation on June 19 and I-131 scan on June 21.   Metal-like taste in mouth within an hour of injection.   Very nauseated morning of 6/18;  tried baking soda and water to calm stomach but didn't help;  took 2 generic immodium.   Still have metal taste;  tongue tingles.

Saw Dr. Davison;  TSH and Free T4 checked.   Put on LID diet;  thyrogen shots scheduled for June 17, 18 and 19 (to make body think Synthroid withdrawal while still on Synthroid).   I-131 scan scheduled for 6/21/13.   Free T4 came back as 1.40.

Annual checkup

Saw Dr. Davison for annual review and labs.  Free T4 1.40, TSH .142.   Started LID diet;  thyrogen injections set for June 17, 18, and 19;  I-131 scan scheduled for June 21.

Saw Dr. Davison June 21.   TSH at 0.852 and Free T4 at 1.24.   Waiting for cancer marker reading before PET scan or imaging.   7/2/12  Cancer marker .05, same as last year, per Dr. Davison.   Nothing further to do at this time.   Maybe next year at 5 year anniversary.
