I had an occupational physical last Friday, June 27th, and had blood drawn for cholesterol, lipids, CBC, etc. tests...nothing relating to the thyroid, unfortunately...this bloodwork will be useless to me, as I had all of these things checked with my bloodwork a week ago, on 6/19/08. Oh well, such is life. =(
More blood was taken today, this time for Lyme disease (which I already tested negatively for), AM Cortisol (to test for adrenal insufficiency), TSH, and thyroid antibodies (TG and TPO). I'm hoping the antibodies can tell me something I don't already know, since I've never had these levels checked.
I also have an RAI uptake procedure schedule for Monday, July 7th, into Tuesday, July 8th. This should also give me some more information about why my thyroid is swelling and looks like it's slowly forming it's own country.
On a positive note, I got my eyes checked last night and my prescription updated, finally! I can see a lot better, even if the rest of my health is going downhill.....
I'm also in the process of selecting an endocrinologist to make an appointment with; I'll probably see this doctor sometime in mid-August, if I can even get an appointment that early around here.
Hopefully, my next journal entry will have the results of my bloodwork from last week and today.
