Sunday evening some family issues arose that required my immediate attention.  I was on the phone cross country for 4 hours ... off and on from 10:00 pm to 3:00 am.  On Monday (which is logged as Tuesday because I didn't enter it until late tonight .. and it is after midnight and I didn't catch I was on the wrong date) .. the situation continued and I had to take my mom to the oral surgeon for a tooth extraction and abscess removal.  While I made notes on scratch paper as to what I ate, I didn't get to input the final Sunday entry or Monday entries until now (early Tuesday morning).

What I have just noticed is the "reason" I am NOT losing weight.  My calorie intake is at a level, without much exercise, that it stays constant and may even slowly rise.  I need to be at 1,300 to 1,400 calories to lose .. and I am averaging above that.

***EAT FEWER CALORIES*** and ***MOVE DAILY*** .. so that is what my Food Diary is telling me .. along with my Weight Tracker and Food Tracker.  In addition, I need to be drinking more water or decaffeinated tea and I need more sleep.  It's 1:38 am and though I want to do more tonight and there are many new people to welcome .. I'm going to go to bed and get up in the morning and start in again tomorrow.

**HINT** .. As you complete your food diary, on the right hand side is a list of other members who have recently used their food diary.  You may just want to take a look at how they are doing, get some ideas, offer some encouragement and meet some new people.  By all means .. feel free to invite them to the Weight Loss & Dieting Community ... the more the merrier.

On Track 1 - Completed my Food Diary and being accountable for my choices.
On Track 2 - Exercised and entered in my Exercise Tracker.
On Track 3 - Weighed and entered in my Weight Tracker.
On Track 4 - Entered water intake in my Water Consumption Tracker - this one is hard for me, but I am working on it.
On Track 5 - Entered sleep in my Sleep Tracker - Dr. Beckerman reminded me that adequate sleep lose weight more than night owls.   http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/97218
On Track 6 - DESPITE plans not going as they should today - migraine, plans changed with one friend (flexibility is good and was fun), and a dinner I was looking forward to got canceled .. kept my emotions in check and did not replace disappointment and loneliness with food!  And, updated my Mood Tracker.
On Track 7 - Charted the migraine that has been persistent today.  Wish this weather would make up it's mind and that I could sleep restfully.

NOTE TO SELF - KEEP DOING THIS FOR 21 DAYS AS THAT IS HOW LONG IT TAKES TO MAKE IT A HABIT!!!

Diet

Yes, I know I am going over the allotted calories I target for weight loss.  It is okay because it is 'ONE' day/meal, not multiple ones.  I CHOOSE to eat a "few" of those things, count them and be knowledgeable and accountable for my decisions.

One of my life-long friends, 27 years now, was visiting Des Moines and we had dinner at his favorite restaurant.  I limited myself to 2 small pieces of pizza, 5 onion rings, and Italian salad and a diet pop.  The foods I chose in my food journal probably represent a few more calories than I ate, but I would rather err on the side of 'counting' rather than not.

Just LOVE my food diary, weight tracker and exercise tracker.  TOGETHER they tell a story ... and TOGETHER we can ALL help each other.  We just have to commit to using them, being honest and putting in the work!

Best wishes to everyone!!!  And, a HUGE THANK YOU to MEDHELP!
