WC case over!

Mar 21, 2009 08:18AM - 0 comments

WC Case was heard on March 10th. Thank God that my lawyer had everything together and made the defendant look totally disorganized and had no damaging evidence. After my nerves settled I felt like a huge burden was lifted. Now I await the  judge's order. I pray that I will get everything my attorney submitted.

Well, I guess this is going to be my last entry since my life is changing at a time when I knew the day would come that my pain issues are nothing compared to the challenge I have up ahead. After last Sunday when my father called me complaining of chest pains and rapid heart palpatations. Thank God that things happened the way they did and when they did because to have it any other way would have been tragic. My father who was diagnosed in Sept. 2008 with Alzheimers now has serious issues with his lungs. He was diagnosed with a PE (pulmonary embolism) and has an unknown mass in his right lung as well. He was released from the hospital with an array of new drugs he has to  add to what he already is taking. After these few days I can see that his Alzheimers may be at another level as well and knew that it would be impossible for him to give himself blood thinning injections as well as all the pills. That's where I come in. Early on after the diagnosis of Alzheimers I made him a promise that I would honor his wishes and take care of him. He is still competant enough to know what is going on right now but he knows that I will not let anyone or anything take his honor away now or ever!
He is a blessing in my life and I am honored to be the "chosen" one that he trusts to take on the caregiving role. Despite my ailments and my chronic pain, I am going to do the best I can with myself so that I have the strength to carry him as well.
Please pray for me and for him for the long road that is up ahead.
Thanks to all those on the Pain Forum for your support and replies.

Drs. Followup

Jan 08, 2009 03:10PM - 0 comments

Today I was seen for a followup with my PM doc. I told him all the miserable symptoms I was having the last few days. My feet, ankles, elbows, hands, lower back and neck stinging. I told him either my current meds were not working for me or my pain level has increased. He said it could be both. He did an examine and pressed on a couple of tender spots near my lower back. It was a good thing that he backed away cause I was ready to start ripping him apart! Anyhow, he told me to up my meds. and prescibed some anit inflammatories. Lets just see if this works. Next appt. is 21 Jan. for medication refill.
Note: Gave Isuara my  medical records to copy for the upcoming deposition with WC.

Quiet Sunday...

Jan 04, 2009 06:36PM - 0 comments

Today has been a fairly good day for me. I've been able to stretch and do a few breathing exercises. I napped with my baby kitten CHICO and we both snuggled up in a warm blanket and watched moviesmosy of the day. My wonderful and gracious husband made us a wonderful dinner with my favorite homemade cornbread. Yummy when it's warm and slathered with butter.
Will probably stay in for the next couple of days since the weather is changing again. Possible rain/icy roads tommorrow. Yuck!
