No chemo

Great disappointment today.  My wbc and rbc were both too low for treatment.  Now I have to wait a week until I can say, "Only 1 more chemo to go."  Dr. S. said that if he gave it to me that I'd end up in the hospital, and I DON'T want that.  It will probably happen next time as well, he said so that puts me in the middle of June before I finish.  Might as well go with the flow because I can't go against it.  At least the boys (men) will be home this weekend for Mother's Day.  There's a YEA!

Getting better

If the last 2 chemos are like this, I can handle it.  I seriously was doubting making it through others like the first.  I've done some sewing today, taken a walk, and prepared lessons for my tutoring students.  I did need to rest and am still pushing fluids.  A little fresh lemon juice in cold water takes out the metallic taste so I have an easy time drinking it.  My hubby's idea and a great one because little tastes good.

They should hit today, and I feel a little overall like a case of the creeping crud, but this is a walk in the park compared to last time.  NO PAIN!!  Kytril and Emend are doing their anti-nausea job - "Better living through chemistry."

Chemo 2

Today I'm halfway through chemo!  Dr. S. isn't make me take the Neulasta shot since it caused me so much severe pain last time.  I'm determined to drink lots to avoid dehydration like last time.  I made a new friend at chemo named Janet,another retired teacher.  We're going to get together on Monday.  Another friendship in the BC sisterhood is born.
