OK Had my diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound ...

So, I had my diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound Monday. They had to take extra pics of the rt breast, the one with the lump, it hurt for a couple of days after. Absolutely nothing showed up on either one...they even had the radiologist come in and try to find it...she could feel it, but, it did not show up!! I'm waiting to hear from the doc...it bothers me that a lump the size of a pea doesn't show up!!! Maybe, it depends on what the lump consists of...so...waiting...again.
Saw Endo today. He didn't laugh at me, just tried to explain away my symptoms and my checklist...when I mentioned Sjogren's, he said "that is very rare." I said, "but, not nonexistent." I immediately thought of all the people on MH that have been diagnosed with it, he did offer me fibromyalgia...guess that one is not so rare!?!? The visit was not a total loss, he had the nurse draw blood for a freeT3 & T4...YAY!!!!!!!!!!! When I was looking for an Endo, I found him and another one, a woman. I couldn't get in to see the woman until July 22nd, so I made that appt and made one with him, too...so, here is my thinking...if the FT3 & FT4 come back off, I will keep my appt with the female doc and dump him...if they come back fine, then I'll cancel my appt with the female doc...Hope I'm making sense, feel all discumbobulated this a.m. I should get the results in a week! Seeing the dentist tomorrow to start work on my getting a partial to replace all the teeth that I have lost to dry mouth...you know from that rare disease called Sjogren's! It is so hot and muggy here on the outskirts of Chicago...I hate the heat...give me some nice Indian Summer weather or even fall! I thank God every single day for air conditioning!

Endo's office called today and said that my FT3 & FT4 are fine...I am going to call tomorrow and aske them to mail the report to me so I can see the actual numbers. So, if my thyroid levels are really good, that leaves the Sjogren's as the culprit for all of my symptoms...so I will be making an appt with a Rheumy!! Has anyone ever watched Mystery Diagnosis on the learning channel?? I'm beginning to feel like one of those poor people who sometimes suffer for years before finally finding a doc who diagnoses them...and during those years each doctor they see on their journey looks at them like they're crazy or a hypochondriac!! I don't want to have something wrong with me, but, I know there is! Did anyone else see those little green men running all over the page????? lol

Years ago joyce I had a false positive they told me it was a floating node...I never found out what it was and didnt follow it up more as they didnt seem to think it was an issue . I also had a useless time at the Docs on Thursday wish I hadnt bothered, he simply wanted to talk and over rule anything he deigned to let me say...yes I know what you mean I came here in the first place looking for answers I had more help from other members than I have had from the Medical profession, in fact I usually freak out,when I enter the office my blood pressure rises and this one said I have high blood pressure, I said well its usually low its because I am here and I feel excitable talking to you about my symptoms(when he let me get a word in)he then recommnded a lot of other tests I went in to ask for Thyroid and Lyme, he said I should have others. Darn it all ..story of my life .
I am beginning to think that the only thing doctors are good for is ordering tests!!! My husband asked me why I made an appt with the Endo...I said so he would run the thyroid tests, to rule in thyroid or rule it out...then hubby says, why couldn't the ENT run those tests?? lol lol lol Exactly!!!!! Will be making appt with a rheumy monday, God only knows how long I will have to wait for an appt! Thanks Cherie & Margy for your support!!! I think doctors just like to hear themselves talk cuz they certainly don't want to listen to their patients.....
I had the same thing a few years back and they did all the looking and ultrasound and found nothing in the long run. But in my heart I knew everything would be ok. dunno why but I just knew. It took 8 weeks to find out its nothing but better safe than sorry. joyce, I tried the breathing thingie and all I did was end up making silly noises...I would tell myself just breathe and I would huff and puff. Need more trials i guess.
Glad the lump was nothing?! Hey, my salivary glands started swelling 13 years ago. It took that long to diagnose Sjogren's. And, it's more common than Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus combined. More common that breast cancer. It's just not commonly diagnosed. And whose fault is that??? Hang in there! :)
alicat07, keep on practicing!! It took me quite awhile to get it to work...just look at it this way, you've got nothing to lose by trying and eventually it may work for you too!! I hope so!

Thanks for asking...I have suffered from dry mouth and burning tongue for about 7 years, dry eyes for about 32 yrs, the swollen salivary glands happened for the first time in January of this year...I know that the span of time between symptoms and diagnosis is 6-8 years...I'm trying to be patient, but, I am so tired of my mouth being on fire and losing my teeth and not one single doctor, not even a dentist or ENT could put 2 & 2 together and figure this thing out!!! If I put all my symptoms in the symptom checker here on MH...guess what comes up??????? I know you know...Sjogren's...if I can figure that out without any college education, what is wrong with these $%^&*#$# doctors????? I am just sooooo frustrated, I could puke!! Sorry Scottie, I hope you know that none of this is aimed at you...guess I just needed to vent! Or to sit on the "Pity" pot for a few minutes and throw myself a "Pity" party...LMAO!! All of this stress is playing havoc with my blood sugars...they're just all over the place lately...OK, Pity party is over...gonna go do some breathing relaxation therapy now...tomorrow's another day...calling to make a Rheumy appt...hope it doesn't take too long to get in to see one...I keep telling myself, "Patience is a virtue," Will keep you guys posted...thank you all for your support...hope all of you have a wonderful, no-flare, pain-free week...((((((HUGS))))))

Hi, I happened upon your journal and am Co-CL over on thyroid. Did they do a regular TSH blood draw? Also, feel free to come on over to thyroid disorders and list your symptoms and bloodwork results --- they may have ideas as to what else you can ask your doctor at your next appt.
Do you have CRS as in RSD? Just curious because 2 of my daughters have suffered from RSD and are in complete remission.

LOL...when I referred to myself as having CRS, I meant "can't remember sh*t"...I had no idea that there was a real illness called CRS, I'm so sorry! I am waiting for my blood test results to arrive in the mail, when it does, I will come to the thyroid forum and post them...also, my TSH was .98, which they told me was normal...thanks for writing and will talk to you soon... ;)
hi all!!! im new to this thyroid thing ,but have been having so much trouble with my health this year!!!!im going to a new doc and he has orderd all kinds of different tests!i recently had an ultrasound of my thyroid gland because he said i had 2 noduals. but the test shows nothing so im confused because i can feel it he could feel them and so could the tech!!!so now nothing????????all my labs were normal,just my thyroid was a little inlarged on the ultrasound. can anyone help???nikki
